Shipyard Design

Our team provides expert consultation on processes of technical design, building, repair, and modernization of projects on shipyards. We serve clients on determination of project appearance, development of technical assignment for the project, determination of base performance elements, analysis of technical-economical feasibility and others.

Owing to changing environment, the ship owner is always weighing the economic feasibility of up grading the vessels in the fleet. These changes can be attributed to regulations, operational requirements, changing market demands or a plain desire to make improvements. Depending on these, such conversion could be as short as a few weeks (for a small equipment installation) or lasting months (bulk carrier to tanker conversion).

Once the client identifies a need, our role begins. Right from the economic feasibility to the project management of the conversion in a repair yard, we support the client all along the way. The various stages of conversion design may be outlined as:

  1. Economic feasibility study
  2. Concept design
  3. Classification approval drawings
  4. Production design

The details of the conversion support is described in the Consultancy section

Our expertise in the conversion process is not restricted to types mentioned below. These are some of the common types, however, depending on the specific need of the client, with our expertise in providing the engineering, we can come up with solutions. Some of the types of conversion may be classified as:

Tanker Conversions

  • Single hull to double hull
  • Tanker to Bulk Carrier
  • Product tanker to Chemical Tanker
  • Ice Class up gradation

Bulk Carrier Conversions

  • Bulk Carrier to Tanker
  • Ice Class up gradation

OSV Conversions

  • Offshore vessel to diving support vessel
  • Moonpool installation

Miscellaneous Conversions

  • Cargo Vessel to Research Vessel conversion
  • Lengthening of the Vessel
